perchance you connected to the line out versus headphone out.
Connect it to where on earth your speakers are plugged into.
maybe your headset are theo nes that are busted. or if they have it, the integrated volume control on your earpiece are set to minimum
Get an audio driver download from the company you purchased the computer from that should solve your problem.
