How to experiment my microphone to see if the audio driver is installed successfully or not?
Multimeter accross the plug should result contained by a low ohn reading. Plug it into your sterio/video mic input. Plug it into your head phone output beside the volume down low. Put mic to your ear then turn up the volume slowely untill you hear a nouns. (In simple terms a Mic is a speaker contained by reverse)
Use sound recorder click on start run type sndrec32.exe to enlarge sound recorder.

Using skylight it depends what os you have, if you own Skype you can place a test bid and find out that way, yahoo messnenger also have a test you can use, but it really sucks.
Use the voice recorder. I am assuming you are using window. It can be found in START>ACCESSORIES>ENTERTAINMEN... >VOICE RECORDER
if the microphone works afterwards you successfully installed the drivers
