How shall i check for USB 2.0 or 1.1 compatibility?

How shall i check for USB 2.0 or 1.1 compatibility?

For Windows XP

if you are asking how to know whether you hold USB 2.0 or not then follow the steps below :-

right click on my computer, select properties, travel to the hardware tab, select Device Manager, you will get a strange window, click on the + sign on the moved out side of Universal Serial Bus Controller, the tree will expand, if you see 2.0 written anywhere in the tree afterwards you have USB 2.0

If you are asking give or take a few compatibility of USB devices, then they are Backward compatible, which scheme, an USB 2.0 device can be used using an USB 1.1 port and an USB 1.1 device can be used using an USB 2.0 port
If your Device Manager shows an ENHANCED USB Host Controller, the system has High Speed USB (USB 2.0) experience.

Types of High Speed USB (USB 2.0) Host Controllers

Intel Enhanced

SiS Enhanced

VIA Enhanced

ALi Enhanced

Standard Enhanced

NEC Enhanced
USB 2.0 is backward compatible near USB 1.1 and will run at USB 1.1 speed. USB 1.1 can be used on USB 2.0 ports but will not run at USB 2.0 speed. Otherwise I am not sure what you are asking. Hope this helps.
