I am building a computer and I be wondering what kind of speakers would you guys recommend?

I want to procure some good characteristic speakers. The one's built in the monitor aren't appropriate enough.

I've be looking around, mainly at Logitech and Altec Lansing, and I'm going more towards Altec Lansing.

But if you guys own any other recommended brands and/or products, please post them!

Oh and my budget is limited to around $100-$120.

There are three-four within your price range that are worth getting. The Altec Lansings FX series, Klipsch Promedia 2.1's and the Logitech Z-2300's. All enjoy gotten fantastic reviews. I believe all (except possibly the Altec's) are THX certified. But all 3 are a great set of speakers and should do the available job nicely for you. If you are looking for more than 2.1's Logitech have a Multimedia Surround Sound speaker system which is pretty good as very well and still within your price gamut.
well if you own a reciever already for a tv surround sound next you can use one of the inputs for your computer and you can find much nicer bookshelf speakers in that price span than normal cumputer speakers. adjectives you would need is a cable that is to say RCA to 1/8inch to plug into your headphones jack and the other into the reciever.
Here are some excellent speakers and they are beneath your budget!
